  • St. Ann FA dissolved

Following investigations conducted by the General Secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), on the current impasse at the St. Ann Football Association, the Board of Directors of the JFF has accepted the recommendation of the General Secretary and dissolved the St. Ann Board with effect from Friday 22, February, 2008.

The following were some of the points established by the General Secretary in his report to the Board:

    · The relationship between the President of the St. Ann FA and the vast majority of the members of its Board has been irreparably damaged
    · No meeting of the Board has been staged since May 2007
    · The Annual General Meeting of the St. Ann FA was not staged in 2007 due to a lack of quorum
    · The day to day management of the Association’s affairs is being done solely by the President and the Assistant Secretary

The Federation took the following decisions at its Board of Directors meeting held on Thursday 21 February, 2008:

    · The Board of the St. Ann FA to be dissolved forthwith
    · The JFF will convene a Special General Meeting on 8 March 2008 to elect an interim Executive Committee of seven (7) persons to conclude the remainder of the term of the current Board. This group shall include a Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and 3 other members
    · The JFF 1st Vice President, Dale Spencer shall head a sub-committee of the JFF Board in the convening and management of the Special General Meeting as well as the period leading up to the meeting. The other members are David Watt, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee and Rev, Wanel Alexander, General Secretary of the Eastern Football Confederation.
    · All competitions currently administered by the St. Ann FA shall be suspended forthwith pending the Special General Meeting referred above

Its the usual suspects that have been involved with the running of the St. Ann FA.

      Strange?!

Two persons hold the majority to ransom? So the St Ann FA's Constitution and or the JFF's rules and regulations allowed for properly authorised meetings to be held and the President and Assistant Secretary replaced and the running of the FA regularised?

If those representing the other officers, the clubs and other affiliates of the FA had not the will to do what is best for themselves...then no amount of JFF ruling from above shall 'fix things'.

What a thing it would be if the JFF's 1st VP calls meetings and as per the St Ann FA's AGM there is 'no quorum'?
