Sports Section Wadadah run over Duansvale

    by Delly's
Wadadah kept their hope of qualifying for the National Premier League, this as they beat Duansvale 3-1 at the UDC playing field in Montego Bay as action continued in the Captain bakery sponsored Western Confed Competition.

First half goals from Rohan Reid (25th minute) and Lennox Whittingham (40th minute) put Wadadah firmly in control of a first half, which they completely dominated.

Duansvale, finding themselves down, came out fighting like Trojans in the early period of the second half. There resilience paid off Leroy Powell’s 25 yards free kick found the back of Wadadah net in the 74th minute of play.

Wadadah went into over drive and stepped up the pressure, they were rewarded in the 80th minute when Lessep Love converted from the penalty spot after Omar Murray was fouled in the box. Rawle Gentles of Duansvale and Orville Campbell of Wadadah were given marching orders by referee Ricardo Sailsman in the 82nd minute for a off the ball incident.

Both teams continued to fight valiantly, but were let down by faulty finish. “A victory is a victory no matter how you get it’ said Delroy Dellisser coach of Wadadah. ‘We have to go back to our game plan because I thought we performed poorly. The team played in patches and we will need to improve in some areas but its coming together” he added.
