  • Duo suspended for derby tussle

Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra are suspended for Manchester United in Sunday's derby match against Manchester City at Old Trafford.

With Louis Saha (knee) still injured Sir Alex Ferguson is short of strikers and may even look to 17-year-old Danny Welbeck, who has been brought into the senior squad for the rest of the season, to play a part against City.

Ryan Giggs could partner Carlos Tevez in attack with Nani or Anderson taking the place of the Welshman in midfield.

Gary Neville (ankle) is back in training but will not return to action for a couple of weeks so Wes Brown will continue to deputise at right-back and John O'Shea could start at left-back.

Kick-off at Old Trafford is 1.30pm.

Man United (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Brown, O'Shea, Simpson, Ferdinand, Vidic, Fletcher, Nani, Park, Scholes, Ronaldo, Anderson, Carrick, Hargreaves, Giggs, Tevez, Welbeck.

Yellow card accumulation. Wayne Rooney want a box. He knew one more yellow would get him suspended, yet he dove unnecessarily in the Spurs game.

I'm not too disappointed about the Evra suspension, may regret it, but during the last few games he wasn't convincing. Oshea should be able to cover ... the only flaw is that most times he cut back on his right to make the cross.

I think Fergie should start Nani on the right and put Ronaldo behind Tevez.
