QPR boss Luigi De Canio has ended his search for a new goalkeeper after signing American Matt Pickens until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old was a free agent after his contract with MLS side Chicago Fire expired in December.
Pickens has now joined the Hoops on a deal until the end of the season and has set his sights on earning international recognition.
He told the club's official website: "I've been in two squads recently but I didn't feel I was getting a real shot at it over there.
"Moving to QPR could enhance my chances and I am relishing the challenge that lies ahead.
"It's a big challenge for me. I've heard a lot about the tradition here. The club has an extensive history and it is a big privilege for me to be here.
"I am here to add competition for places in the goalkeeping department. I'm not the kind of goalkeeper who will be content with being a number two, but we'll have to wait and see what happens."
Pickens' arrival ends manager Luigi De Canio's search for another goalkeeper, with the big-spending Hoops boss failing in a move for Dutchman Stefan Postma in January and then seeing a move for Bradford's Donovan Ricketts fall through after the player was denied a work permit

Note: How the hell this guy get work permit and they denied Ricketts?
