Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes the Premier League title will be decided by head-to-head games between the top three contenders.
The Gunners earned themselves a narrow gap at the top of the table on the strength of last weekend's results and sit two points above Manchester United and six ahead of Chelsea.
Wenger believes the direct confrontations between the top three will ultimately have a major bearing on the destination of the title.
He said: "The mental aspect of the game will be important but so will the direct confrontations. They have a major part to play.
"I don't rule out Chelsea because they have to play at home against Man United and Arsenal. They have already put wins together when they have had players out. I don't think we can rule them out, it will be amongst these three."
