    <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">October 3, 2006<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: center" align=center><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><U>Reggae Girlz “Strengthening up” for 2006 CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup<o></o></U>[/B]<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">In preparation for the 2006 CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup, Vin Blaine, Head Coach of the National Senior Women’s Team has identified physical strengthening as one aspect to of the team’s development that will be critical for their success in the tournament. <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Gymkhana and the Jamaica Football Federation have struck a sponsorship arrangement that caters to the physical strengthening of the National Senior Women’s Team leading up to their tournament in November. Under the arrangement, the Reggae Girlz will do physical strength training and cardiovascular training three (3) times weekly leading up to the Gold Cup. <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The qualification for this competition started in May 2006. Jamaica hosted Group C which also included <SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial">Antigua &amp; Barbuda, St. Kitts &amp; Nevis and St. Lucia. Jamaica defeated all three team, scoring 26 goals and conceding none and progressed to the next round of qualification.<o></o></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"><o></o></SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-family: Arial">The Second leg of qualification took place in Trinidad in September. Jamaica was placed in Group B along with Bermuda and Haiti. Jamaica defeated both teams 7-0 and 3-0 respectively. </SPAN><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The Senior Reggae Girlz have qualified for the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup which will be staged in the US cities of Miami in Florida and Carson in California from November 19 – 26.
