Daley pens long-term City deal

Omar Daley is a Bradford City player until 2011.
The flying Jamaican international has committed his future to Valley Parade after signing a new three-and-a-half year deal, subject to a work permit.

City are thrilled to secure the maverick winger, who has been attracting envious glances from elsewhere.
Boss Stuart McCall knows he has one of the most elusive - if unpredictable - players in League Two under his command and was determined not to let him slip away.
McCall said: "We know what a threat Omar can be so we're delighted to get him tied down. He is enjoying his football here and we didn't want to lose him.
"Every time you have a chat with other managers after games, his is always the name that crops up. And we want to keep progressing him along.
"You've seen the other Jamaicans that have moved on like Damion Stewart doing well with QPR now and Jermaine Johnson at Sheffield Wednesday, who is being talked about as going even higher.
"There were people enquiring about Omar, which is why we're so pleased to get this sorted.
"For us to tie him to a contract like this shows our commitment, as well as his to the football club."
Daley joined City a year ago from American side Charleston Battery and made his debut against Yeovil, in the same game that Johnson was sent off on his last appearance. He scored twice from outside the box in 13 starts.
Daley has been a regular under McCall, starting every league game bar one, but has netted only once - against Chester - despite creating plenty of chances.
"His finishing needs to be better and he could have had half a dozen goals by now," added McCall. "But he's also been really unfortunate with a lot of efforts, hitting the woodwork on numerous occasions and being denied by outstanding saves.

"The good thing is that he can play anywhere going forward and I'm as happy with him up front as playing on the left or right. With his great pace, trickery and unpredictability, he is always going to be dangerous.
"We're working on the defensive side of his game as well but sometimes playing down the middle takes that workload off him.
"I listened to the Wednesday lads speaking before the Sheffield derby and they were saying how much they hated to defend against JJ in training because he is such a lively player. Omar is in the same category for us."
City were again left kicking their heels at the weekend thanks to the wet weather.
Saturday's trip to Rochdale was called off five hours before kick-off because of a waterlogged pitch - one of five postponements in League Two.
And they will be watching the forecast anxiously ahead of tomorrow's game at Bury, whose home game with Stockport was another victim.
McCall said: "We were desperately disappointed not to play but you're in the hands of the weather."
City filled their blank afternoon with an impromptu training session on the artificial surface at Marley Stadium in Keighley.
