Coaches Donovan Dukie of St George's Sports Club and Wendell Downswell of Reno Football Cub are pleased with their recall to the national football programme under the new regime of technical director, Brazilian Rene Simoes.
Dukie, who served a stint on the recently dismissed technical director, Velibor 'Bora' Milutinvic, said he is humbled by his selection.
"I am very humbled at the opportunity as Rene Simoes is an icon... he is a great man who has brought us to the World Cup before. It is a pleasure to go beside him," he said on Sunday when Reno and St George's played to a 1-1 score at Lynch Park in Portland.
"I have been growing from strength to strength, but I am more open to learn more at the national level and looking forward to working with this new coach and what he has to offer," he added.
Downswell, an experienced coach who was in charge of the senior team for a spell, worked with Simoes before. "I am definitely excited and ecstatic as I am really looking forward to the job as it relates to the whole co-ordination of scouting (talent). I have decided I will give it my best and look forward to the draft of a master plan to ensure that whatever we do, we do to the best of my ability and that Jamaica benefits from it," he said.
"I am very happy based on the feedback I have gotten from him (Simoes) on the state of the national programme and his plan working on the 2010 programme and beyond," Downswell added.
