Man Utd Set To Announce Massive Increase In Turnover Manchester United will later this week announce a huge increase in turnover to £245 million, plus the highest profit figure ever recorded by an English football club.

The Scotsman reports tht Manchester United are set to release financial results that reflect how the club have cashed in on their outstandingly successful 2006/07 season on the pitch.
In last season's campaign, United won the Premier League title for the first time in four years, reached the final of the FA Cup and the semi-final of the Champions League.
It was a performance that helped them reclaim heir status as the richest club in England.
Last September, Arsenal assumed that mantle when they reported turnover of £201 million.
But United have also factored into their figures the revenue from their long-term contract with shirt manufacturers Nike. This has never previously been included.
It leaves United as the wealthiest club once again in England, only slightly behind Real Madrid who are the richest on the world stage.
Confirmation of United's £245 million figure for overall business turnover will come from Old Trafford overnight on Thursday.
The club itself will report turnover in excess of £200 millon for its core football activities, says The Scotsman.
The overall results are also expected to confirm the highest profit figure ever achieved by an English football club.
The Scotsman argues that this "may go some way to easing the widespread concerns of many fans over the debt incurred during the American billionaire Malcolm Glazer's controversial takeover in 2005."
The figures have also allowed United to reduce their wages-to-turnover ratio down to 43.6 per cent, comfortably within the 50 per cent limit set by the Glazer family as a long-term aim.
Given the new TV deal currently in place and the fact that United are still well in contention for honours on three fronts, the club could improve on last season's exceptional financial results - especially if new their commercial director, Richard Arnold, can capitalise on a global fan-base now estimated at 333 million according to market research company TNS Sport.

Bag a chat? I based my arguments on various publications at the time. Didn't we go thru this the other day?

... keep it real Yuttie .. I said if the team didn't get it together they could be out of the race. Irrespective of your continued misunderstanding .. there is no question which team I support.

If the team had continued to struggle in September, while other teams continued winning, what would be the situation? I don't only look at the pros, the cons have to be considered as well. If that makes me an alarmist ... I can live with that.

Its not a matter of going by everything I read ... however, when an interview from UEFA top brass comes into play, it cannot be ignored. Manipulated or not.

I wasn't aware that there was any slide.
