No honeymoon for Simoes and the Reggae Boyz Monday, 07 January 2008 Brazilian Rene Simoes, on his return as technical director, has warned players not to expect any honeymoon period as the country gets ready for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Simoes, who guided Jamaica to the 1998 World Cup, returned triumphantly to the island on Saturday after seven years and says he is ready to work and had this message for players.
Simoes also explained that local coaches will be placed on probation for three months and at the end of the three months could form part of the team if their performance is satisfactory.
Assistant Coach Alfredo Montesso will arrive on Monday to join Simoes and goal keeper coach Chico Santos who also arrived on Saturday.
New physical trainer Jose Aleyandre Monteiro will arrive later.
