Lack of proper preparation has caught up with us.
Not too long ago - last Digicel tournament - an underprepared TEAM ReggaeBoyz won the competition. Then the writing was on the wall.We scraped through. Andy williams who was then Captain of the squad became disgruntled. He went to the following Gold Cup tournament where onceagain we presented an underpreparedsquad. Andy could take it no more...and, in disgust quit with the out that he could return if 'things changed'.
Lack of professionalismin the JFF leadership...begets...lack of a well run JFF...gets us results such as this!

Haiti's victory gave them six points atop qualifying Group D, having outscored their opponents 11-1 in two games.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Jamil scored in fourth and 14th minutes, the latter on a penalty, to put Haiti ahead 2-0, while Fritzson added his goals in the 17th and 82nd minutes.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Mones Chery scored in the 42nd minute, Fabrice Neol in 63rd and Josue Mayard in the 80th for the Haitians.<P class=StoryText align=justify>St Lucia played with 10 men after the 14th minute when John-Perry Joseph was ejected for a foul on Fritzson that resulted in Jamil's penalty.<P class=StoryText align=justify>St Lucia got a consolation goal in the 91st minute when Germal Valcin converted a penalty after Titus Elva was brought down in the area by Haitian goalkeeper Fenelon Gabart, who was red-carded.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Bermuda assured themselves of winning Group C with their second win in as many games and joined Guyana, Suriname, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Cuba, the Bahamas, Guadeloupe and Martinique.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Goals by Aljame Zuill in the 25th, Darius Cox in the 48th and Kivame Steeds in the 53rd put Bermuda comfortably ahead early in the second half.<P class=StoryText align=justify>The Dominicans hurt themselves with the 52nd-minute ejection of Freddy Medina, and simultaneous red cards to Bermuda's Kentoing Jennings and the Dominican Republic's Jonathan Fana in the 75th had the game finish with only 19 men.

The fans are not fools. At least, not this time. Despite the 4-0 thrashing of St. Lucia, we knew tat te team did not play well. It was only a matter of time.
I wonder where those people are who were telling me that the team is playing like Simoes' team.
Did not see the game, but I will be there tomorrow. I hope it doesn't get ugly.

Like I pointed out before Kevin Lamey is a club footballer. While young striker Steve Morissey (plays for Glenmuir) and Damion Williams have been on the bench since the start of thetournament.
Maybe that was the reason for the breakdown in transmission of TVJ SPORTS NETWORK in Mobay to save us the embarassment.Comment

Jamaica were last night surprisingly beaten 2-1 by St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) at the National Stadium in the Digicel Caribbean Cup.
SVG, who are ranked 52 places lower than Jamaica on the FIFA rankings, got their goals from substitute Wesley John (47th) and Kendal Velox (68th). Roland Dean scored in the 70th minute for Jamaica.
Both teams failed to score in the first half, but there were clear signs that SVG were better than their FIFA ranking. They weren't shy in attack and looked confident, particularly on the counter-attacks.
Second half substitute John scored off a rebound from the crossbar in the 47th minute moments after coming in, shocking Jamaica and the patrons in the grandstand.
The speedy Velox, who had earlier shown he can be dangerous, caught Shawn Sawyers napping off his line and floated his team's second goal in the back of the net.
Roland Dean restored some national pride when he headed in a Garfield Reid corner moments after replacing Kevin Lamey in the 70th minute. Jamaica dug a grave for themselves as the midfielders were absent in attack which resulted in the defenders attempting long passes to the forwards. Lamey got a lot of touches in the first half, but wasn't a real threat and his strike partner Fabian Dawkins was plagued by some poor first touches. At the end of the game SVG celebrated as if they had won the cup and few hecklers booed Jamaica as they left the pitch.
In the earlier game, Haiti won their second game defeating St. Lucia 7-1.
Haiti lead the standings with six points, three more than both Jamaica and SVG. In tomorrow's final double-header, SVG will first face St. Lucia at 4:00 p.m. before Jamaica oppose Haiti at 6:00 p.m. Only the top two teams will advance to the next round.
Anyone knows what are the tie-breaking rules if two or more teams are tied on points?
