Liverpool's Crouch accuses foreigners of play-acting

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has accused foreigners of play-acting following his sending off for a robust challenge on Chelsea's Jon Mikel Obi on Wednesday.

The England striker was shown an immediate red card by referee Martin Atkinson for a two-footed lunge against the Nigerian in Liverpool's 2-0 quarter-final defeat at Stamford Bridge, but claimed Mikel over-reacted.

He told the Liverpool Echo newspaper: "Foreign players have brought a lot to our game but that's something you don't want to see."

"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."

He needs to stop the bitching .... even if he didn't catch the player it is a red card ... as a matter of fact, he should have been given a 2nd red card for looking so clumsy while doing it.

Shut up and play Crouch. That was a idiot tackle you made. you can't blame NOBODY much less foriegn players. The English players don't do it?

Methinks he could go tryout for the English long-jump team.

They need to sell this joker for a pure striker, ETO !

All of a sudden , boss he has been squeeeezed like O.J to prarphase Onandi , he served his purpose.Rafa need to leggo Crouch .

Liverpool needs to invest in developing Babel as a forward for our future and insert Eto as a stop gap measure (short term ) .I would swap Crouch and Kuyt for Eto as a package deal then invest in a left winger and a Left back/ defender(multi dimensional) as Rafa likes to buy them.

Yuh nuh here say de man waah come a liverpool.I think its frightening to all the re - emergence of liverpool as a force.

Let me Vent for a Min on another subject! Hicks & Gillet would be fools to sack Rafa and get whom or what ? Mourinho to do what ask for the same , or more of what Rafa wants in a vulgar way ? O.K not Mourinho whom else could build what Rafa has so far with lesser tools ?

Leave Rafa as long as we win a major title Q.O.Y (every other year) , leave him until the prem comes home because it is coming !

Some one should call him out for his racist , anti - immigrant statement. It amazes me , the Forgeiners (AFRICANS) make the prem into what it is , yes that includes blacks born in britian of African and Afro/ carribbean heritage and they are attacked by the British media without a cry to thier defence?

Is this how the caucasian British people view us , or is it just to sell papers? I mean if it is so in football , then what about the average work place ?

... Jose would fit in at Liverpool. How the ref tief unuh now? For red carding Crouch? With the large 'pool' of players unuh have, unuh nuh suppose to complain bout 2nd 11.

FA: Crouch won't face racism probe over comments

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch will almost certainly escape any disciplinary action from the Football Association for remarks that have been dubbed 'potentially racist'.

Crouch was dismissed in Wednesday night's Carling Cup quarter-final defeat for a lunge at Chelsea's Nigerian midfielder Mikel John Obi.

Mikel's representatives, the Sport Entertainment and Media (SEM) Group, responded angrily following comments made by Crouch that foreign players were prone to diving.
