2008 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup™ fixtures set
18.12.07 - CONCACAF unveiled today the respective match-ups and the complete home-and-away fixtures for the 2008 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup™ at the conclusion of the draw held at the offices of the CONCACAF General Secretariat in New York City.
The first-leg encounter of the Quarterfinals will take place from 11-13 March with the return-legs set for 18-20 March. MATCH-UPS
Quarterfinal 1 will have the defending CONCACAF champion, Pachuca CF of Mexico taking on Honduras’ CD Motagua, while Harbour View of Jamaica face USA’s D.C. United in Quarterfinal 2.
Atlante FC of Mexico will meet Costa Rica’s Deportivo Saprissa in Quarterfinal 3, while the Houston Dynamo of USA play against Guatemala’s CSD Municipal in Quarterfinal 4.
The quarterfinal winners will advance to the Champions’ Cup Semifinals scheduled for 1-3 and 8-10 April, respectively.
The semifinal victors will play for the 2008 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup™ over two-legs on 22-24 April and 29 April – 1 May, with the winner also qualifying to the FIFA Club World Cup Japan later in the year.
The 2008 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup™ will be broadcast on television by the FoxSports International regional programming channels (Fox Soccer Channel – USA; FoxSports en Español – USA; Fox Sports Latin America Northern Cone – Caribbean, Central America & Mexico).
The CONCACAF Champions Cup™ is the longest running international club competition in the region and has crowned the champion club of the Confederation since its inception in 1962.
