Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is hoping midfielder Mathieu Flamini will be fit for the game with Cesc Fabregas' absence likely to continue. Flamini, Robin van Persie and Abou Diaby could all be involved on Sunday but Fabregas and Belarus international Alexander Hleb have still not fully recovered.
"The one who has a realistic chance is Flamini," Wenger said. "One who could be in the squad is Van Persie. Diaby could be in the squad as well. We don't know about Cesc and Hleb."
Full-back Gael Clichy has said that Sunday's game has added significance following the defeat to Middlesbrough and the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United last week. Clichy said: "If we had won yesterday it would have been perfect but now the gap has closed and we have to do something good against Chelsea because the pressure is on. This is now a massive game."
Andriy Shevchenko has also been talking about the game, which if Chelsea win, would see the equal on points with the current league leaders. "It's a very important game, Arsenal play great, great, great football. It will be a very important, and a very difficult game," he said.
