Gazzetta dello Sport says United intermediaries have sounded out Inter representatives about the Brazilian's situation following this week's signing of Hernan Crespo, from Chelsea.
Along with the Argentine, Inter have Adriano, Obafemi Martins, Julio Cruz and Alvaro Recoba all on their books and United know that one of them must leave to make room for the ex-Chelsea man.
No firm approach from United has been made, but Inter are convinced an enquiry will arrive in the coming days. However, Inter patron Massimo Moratti isn't interested in releasing Adriano unless an offer of between ?35-40 million is made.
