The have to improve dramatically to even be competitive on the field. I would not be surprised if they conceive the most goals in the next stage of qualifying.

In the absence of friendlies with superior opposition they should scrimmage with some U-17 male teams.

      Agreed!
U-15 and U-17 agree with that!
      Faster paced game!
      Greater level of skill needed!
      Greater tactics needed!
      More body strength needed!
      Greater mental strength needed!
MORE TEAM needed to live with the boys!

Reggae Girlz too good for Cuba

Christina Murray ... scored against Cuba on Saturday.

        HAVANA, Cuba, CMC
Jamaica underlined their superiority over Cuba and shot past the home side 2-0 in the second leg of their two-way Women's Olympic Qualifying play-off on Saturday evening.

Goals by Kenesha Reid and Christina Murray set up the result at the Pedro Marrero Stadium that ensured Jamaica's safe passage through to the CONCACAF Final round next April when they will take aim at a spot in the Beijing Olympics women's football competition.

The Jamaicans, who had won the first game 1-0 on Friday, completed a 3-0 aggregate triumph with Saturday's success.

Undefeated so far in the Caribbean phase of the qualifying series, the Jamaicans jumped ahead on the half hour when the prolific Reid headed in a corner kick - from Jodi-Ann McGregor - that beat Cuban goalkeeper Kirenia Cabrera.

Murray, on as a substitute in the 64th minute, consolidated Jamaica's position with a well- struck goal in the 88th minute.

After netting the decisive goal in Friday's victory when she was also a substitute, Murray was on target again, directing a high 20-yard shot that swayed past substitute goalkeeper Katherine Hidalgo two minutes from the end.

In the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Group C qualifying series, the Jamaicans had pounded Antigua 12-0, Dominica 8-0 and Bermuda 4-0 en route to the play-offs against Cuba.

Jamaica's Reggae Girlz now join Trinidad and Tobago as the Caribbean qualifiers to the six-team 2008 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualification Final Round in Chihuahua, Mexico.
The CONCACAF Finals, which will run from April 2-13, include the defending champions U.S.A. along with North Zone representatives Canada and Mexico, and with Central American qualifiers Costa Rica.
