Harbour View Football Club Honours 2007 CFU Caribbean
Club Champions!!
It was a gala affair for the many proud Players,
Coaches and Managers who turned out in all their glory
at last evenings formal dinner at the fabulous upscale
Knutsford Court Hotel in New Kingston to celebrate the
victory in the CFU Caribbean Club Championship.
Sponsors of the event the Premier League Clubs
Association, The Jamaica Biscuit Company and Kingston
and St. Andrew Football Association all were fully
represented at the highest level along with Premier
League sponsors Cash Plus and Club sponsors St. Thomas
Credit Co-op Union, Total Gas and the Reggae Boyz
Supporters Club.
The Jamaica Football Federation and the Jamaica
Football Referees Association with Media
representatives completing the audience was Harbour
View Staff Members, wives, husband and girlfriends of
the players and Managers.
The classy occasion was marked by well thought out
speeches offered by PLCA Chairman, the Most Honourable
Edward Seaga who delightful glance back into
football's history told the wonderful story of how the
game evolved over centuries beginning with "kicking of
the inflated pigs bladder around" without rules to
todays associated league in more orderly settings
while jokingly pointing out similarities still in
existence even now.
Ambassador A.B.Stewart Stephenson eloquently voiced
his praises of the clubs outstanding record of
management, discipline and comradrie while portraying
first hand knowledge of our Trinidad experiences when
he visited the "No Star Hotel" where the team lodged
for two weeks crafting the unbeatable battle plan as
the opponents relaxed in their multi-star hotel.
Proudly announcing as always "KSAFA is Number one"!
Main Address speaker Carvel Stewart outlined his
detailed plans going forward into the next round of
eight quarterfinalists in March 2008 hoping for a
favourable draw, if that is the not already seeded
then we will send someone to the public draw.
The invitation for sponsorship of greater proportions
are well needed as we represent jamaica first and
Harbour View is secondary.
The objective of winning the CONCACAF Championship for
the first time then reaching World Club Championship
Finals in Japan next November, is the where we focus
to achieve the ultimate goal in Club football.
Messages from the JFF in addition to a glowing Tribute
from Team Manager, Annmarie Massey brought
spontaneous applause across the ballroom followed by
team player Keith Kelly thanking all for his
opportunity while mimicking Dwayne "Brokie" Blake.
Cash Plus official Sandra Davis was greeted with a
loud cheer after giving her presentation honouring her
club also as a bonifide resident of Harbour View.
Team Captain on tour in Trinidad and Tobago,
Christopher Harvey gave the Vote of Thanks before the
guests all adorned with bright smiling faces mingled
and slowly departed the tastefully designed reception
area outside the ballroom.
A wonderful time was had by all.
