J.J the livewire pipped for player of the month award

Constantine's five goals have played a big part in Vale's impressive start to the new campaign.

He grabbed an opening-day double against Leyton Orient, and also notched twice against Chesterfield.

The other contenders for the award were Jermaine Johnson of Bradford City, Jo Kuffour of Brentford and Nottingham Forest's Julian Bennett.
