  • A critical look at our forwards To take us to Africa

    1) Marlon King , excellent touch a work horse reads the game well , plays the passing game quite well between midfielders and forwards, prolific for club and country .Nothing negative can be said about his game , it is the total package.Club currently sits on top of championship, Rumored to be on the transfer list of several prem clubs.

    2) T. Bennet .This is a one touch balla as we say in Jamaica .Never seen try to take on the whole field always looking to pass to position him self for the recieving pass to set himself up for that killer strike, this kind of unselfish play always leaves others open to make the most of any oppourtunistic oppourtunity.Currently in sweedish prem league ,hoping to transfer to an unknown club to advance his carrear.

3)Shelton a promise that has yet to be filled a big question mark hangs over his head.He has the pace to be a world class striker except for his poor 1st touch and his recent fondness to dribble (dung de place) which takes away from the team game of playing the simple one two to set up asimple goal, he has shone brightly against lesser opponents i.e gautemala in the past but struggles against quality opposition to the point of nonexistence.Currently fighting to ride the pine in the championship in england or a prolific scorer for his championship reserve team.

4)Fuller , prolific for club but cannot replicate that form for country , Struggles even against carribbean minnows, has many a fan frustrated with his deft moves and willy dribbles only to be let down by his poor finishing for his country, another culprit of not playing the pivotal one touch with teammates but always seem to get the nod as a starter to the amazement of all .

5)Onandi Lowe prolific for club, prolific for country .Excellent one touch passer, reads the game well , has a Drogba complex crys for most calls . Quoted as being a discipline problem by most of his managers.Part of the WC 98 squad at 21 - 22 years old , forgiven by the disciplinarian Rene Simoes .Also quoted by his former manager Brian Talbot of being a discipline problem refused to sell him until he resigned as Manager of R&D after taking them to Div 2 sold to Coventry . Loved by Clovis De Olivera and rejected by Carl Brown in favour of a King & Fuller partnership.Currently playing for Portmore United .

Logically it should be T.Bennet and King upfront. Lowe should come off the bench 1st with Shelton or Fuller as subs.We need at least 5 to 6 forwards in this campaign.3 should have a multi dimensional game , be able to operate as wingers or attacking midfielders.

Fuller & Shelton cannot be blooded in this campaign to get the chemistry right, We tried that with 2 campaigns witn Fuller ! we cannot do the same with Shelton .We need to play those that have an innate ability to play a one touch ball game, its the hallmark of a pure striker.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

But mi nuh unnastan. you were backing Onandi even before he discovered the ability to pass and use his other teamates..

Onandi low does not have an INATE ability to play one touch ball.. whatever ability he developed was LATE in his career...

What about Fabian Taylor? And a King/Bennett combo does not offer much versatility up front IMO. Playing any of the two with Fuller would give us a better strike duo.

My first strike pair would be a KING/FULLER combo. Onandi Lowe do not give the impression that he wants to continue at the international level or any level at all so I am at a lost as to why we still clamour for his appearance.

Fuller doesnt offer versatility as a Forward, he hasnt done it before i cannot see it happeniing now .

What we need is an attacking midfielder to spray passes to these individuals or run through any open space with pace.Fuller or J.J , lets face it a Forward line up with Fuller is predictable in Concacaf they have played against it for 2 campaigns.

Onandi will grab his chance if offered Brick ..chuss me!

Onandi Lowe should be taken out of that equation. He is done and washed up. And Fuller is not an international striker. He isn't good enough at that level.

I would much rather look to Bennet and Shelton as options. They are alot younger and can learn and adapt quicker. The thing is what we need our strikers to learn most is to have better positioning in the box. This leads to half chances being converted. This will also improve their strike rate making them lethal. We are sorely missing that. This is why a few years back Jared Borgetti of Mexico was one of Concacaf's most lethal strikers. His positioning and his ability to get behind defenders was clinical to Mexico's success.

Bennet is a lot younger than FULLER? You learn something new every day
