    <DIV align=left>Jamaica and Trinidad &amp; Tobago advance to CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup™

10.9.06 - Jamaica and the host, Trinidad &amp; Tobago advanced to the 2006 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup after defeating Haiti and Dominican Republic, respectively, in the Caribbean Final Round Qualification at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar on Sunday.

Trinidad &amp; Tobago won the Group A title after topping the Dominican Republic 7:0, while in the earlier encounter on Sunday, Jamaica claimed the Group B crown with a 3:0 win over Haiti.

Jamaica and Trinidad &amp; Tobago will join Canada, Mexico, Panama and the host USA at the 2006 CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup™ in November.

The six-team Women’s Gold Cup™, which will crown the CONCACAF champion, will also qualify two nations to the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China. The third-place finisher from the CONCACAF event will face Japan (from the Asia Football Confederation) in a home-and-away playoff for the final berth to the FIFA tournament.
