What does it take to really play for Jamaica?
This is a serious question, yet instead of treating it as such we are left with an indelible strain in the form of pure mockery.
Is jamaican football that good that Cash Plus players are still better than a Lisbie, Euell, Burton, riding the bench of professional setting. I guess even in football we Jamaicans come across as arrogant an downright "bareface' as grannie use to sey." Riquelme please give thanks you weren't born in Jamaica, Beckham, ronaldo please if you were Jamaican ease off of the comeback trail. Adriano a bly would elude you.
People my point is this, Please I am begging each reader and poster on this site we are not as talented or as good as we think we are. No No there isn't 25 Adu's around. Professional players compete in practise and are kept on the bench because certain styles and preference by coaches dictate these happenstance. During our last qualifying game against the USA, our style of play and the choice players chosen were our achilles' heel. In my observation Tappa should have given way much earlier to Hue, Fuller should have been taken off or instructed to play pass first, hold up play for midfield support and then run off into position for an option pass receipt. With all our exploits in track an Field it amazes me how we have never utilise speed with wingers and good crosses into danger areas.
Jamaica does need more than top class coaches, what we need is top class recruiters an someone with a style that benefit the type of players available.
Simple soccer...ala arsenal or manu; pass run pass run support pass run support..That is how we as sprint champs should play... days of holding trying to broke three people are over"
Our style and objective is simple, get fast, thinking players on the field, and it matters not each person's age if during practise. they are better thinkers, faster, fitter then they are the ones we should always choose...and so from now on it is not style over substance when playing for my beloved team but substance over style.
