  • On Goodison, Whitmore and Simoes

I dont understand what all the fuss is about regarding Ian's call-up. The man is still playing professional football, and by all indications, is doing a good job at it too. We all saw the influence Peter Cargill (RIP) had on the national team after his recalled to the program at age 34 (same age as Goodison). The only thing that Goodison might be lacking right now is speed, but his ability to read the game might be a mitigating factor.

Theodore Whitmore's appointment as interim head coach might be the biggest clue yet as to who the JFF will be signing to lead the nation's football. Its no secret that Simoes has always been a great admirer of Whitmore. Its also no secret that Simoes has traditionally identifed key past players to be part of the national coaching programme. Peter Cargill served simoes both as a player, then later on, he became a part of the coaching staff.

I would be equally satisfied with Bruce Arena as coach of the Reggae BoyZ.

One of the strong trait of cap'n Burrell is that he does not make decisions to make folks happy.
