SEBA United yesterday remained king of the hill after whipping homesters August Town 3-1 and champions Harbour View rallied from two goals down, for the second straight match, to pip Waterhouse 3-2 at Compound in another thrilling round of Cash Plus Premier League football.

Seba's win moved them to 13 points, one clear of Harbour View with Portmore United easing into third on 11 after beating Village United 2-1 at the Elliston Wakeland Centre in Trelawny.

Veteran Daniel Ricketts inspired leaders Seba United to maintain their one-point lead atop the standings over champions Harbour View, who saw their fortunes change at home in the 71st minute while trailing Waterhouse 2-1.

Ricketts, operating as a winger in Seba's 4-3-3 combination, fired in expert squares in the 27th and 68th minutes for Delroy Ellis and Kemar James to score from inside the six-yard box. Oliver Trail made it 3-1 after dispossessing goalkeeper Devon Haughton in time-added.

August Town had pulled level at 1-1 in the 50th minute when Daniel Shaw netted another spectacular goal following his free-kick against Village United two rounds earlier.

Shaw made room for himself 30 yards on the right side of midfield and unleashed a shot, which could only be admired as it sailed into the roof of Seba's net to move the leaders to 13 points.

    WHITMORE'S PRAISES
Seba's player/coach, Theodore Whitmore, who suited up on the substitute's bench but had no need to call on himself, praised Ricketts, who was substituted late in the game.

"He is at about 60 per cent right now but when he is right there is nobody, who can stop Daniel," he said.

August town's Calvert Fitzgerald bemoaned his team's discipline.
"Before the play was made, I kept telling him to track the man and he didn't. Something will have to happen, where discipline is concerned, before our next game against Portmore United," Fitzgerald hinted before adding that his goalkeeper had several options but chose to dribble and conceding a third goal.

At Harbour View, the homesters rallied from 2-1 down when Waterhouse lost two players, goalkeeper Richard McCallum and defender Marco McDonald, in the 71st minute.

Harbour View also lost striker Kavin Bryan, who was the third player ejected in the fracas over a disputed penalty, which Christopher Harvey netted to level the score at 2-2.

Kemeel Wolfe gave the champions full points in the 75th minute, pushing Waterhouse from third to seventh in the standings on eight points.

    BARRIGGA BASHES REF
Harbour View coach Lenny Hyde said he was elated at his team's recovery but Waterhouse coach, Danilo Barrigga bashed the referee's decision to award a penalty.

"We came back. It showed the depth and character of the team," said Hyde. "I think the changes made in the second half put some energy and pace in the team, especially Kemeel Wolfe and Ricardo Smith," he added.
"I respect the professionals a lot but today was a bad day for the referee," said Barrigga.

"Harbour View don't need the referee. They've good players, good structure and an excellent coach. My only recommendation is the referee should watch the TV again. That was not a red card."

The shock result of the round came from Lynch Park in Portland where promoted St. Georges stunned Arnett Gardens 2-0 through two goals from Damion Harwood.

The loss plunged Arnett from fifth to eighth in the table, sharing seven points with August Town, whereas St. George's moved up to sixth place on goal difference over Waterhouse with eight points.

In other games, Boys' Town handed Sporting Central a 4-1 hiding at Collie Smith Drive to move to nine points, pushing the promoted side down to 10th place on six points and Tivoli Gardens took out Reno 2-0 at the Edward Seaga Complex to join their neighbours on nine points.

Reno remain on three points, occupying the cellar with Village, who are rooted on one point.
