Why can't Robson start Shelton in midfield? ...
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The best controller and runner of the ball we've got and he starts on the bench every game.
    UTB.
    ROBSON OUT.

Perhaps the strategy is to save him for the second half when most of the opposition will be tired. Then send him in to try and run around the defense.
But he needs to be teamed up with someone who can capitalize on rebounds or quick crosses/forward passes or touches that he will make in the box. Because he isn't the most accurate finisher.

F**kin' hell, did none of you see the runs he went on on Saturday? Or how he took the ball from a left back position, ran around the park and then set-up the second against Cardiff? You're all as bad as Captain Charisma!

Shelton did scare the sh!t out of them, but his end product and first touch aren't as good as they should be.
Against tired defenders he'll cause all kinds of trouble, not sure he'll be able to keep that up for a full game though.
But I agree - give him a chance. Can't be any worse than Keef - cos he can't cross any more either.

yeah give the man a run.

Wid confidence his control will get better. It ain't going to get better playing 10 and 20 minutes a game.

Shelton Pace is such an asset as it keeps defenders on their toes and free up others around him.

      Give the youth a run

One guy says his touch is great...another says it is crap!

One guy goes over the moon about him running all over the park with the ball and setting up a goal...

mmmm???? - This latter could have a great coach saying the running all over the park was crap thinking (anti-TEAM)...but, great entertaining lucky stuff...and, the goal was wonderful!

...but, would most coaches use that 'running all over the park' to think of giving him more playing time or less playing time? mmmm????

that is why him need to go to a team with a good coach.

All the above was said about Peter Crouch, Fuller, and some decent players but with playing time it only get better, as it did in my case.

Crouch has exquisite touch. Can't say the same for Fuller.

Mo after he came back from the long lay off many on here was saying he didn't have a great first touch.

Fuller like Shelton's may not be great but what both of them have is the courage and Shelton always take a direct route to goal, no sideway thing.

I think it is has been made manifestly clear how unimportant those skill sets are...

They have other qualities of which they can be proud. In fact, they might have an advantage over the slow player that has no dribbling skill. You can teach ball control, even though some never seem able to get it.
