Some people here eating their words when they wrote off Bolt saying he is as fragile as Asafa..

He was fragile for sure. Nah tek back dah chat deh! Hopefully, Asafa can overcome his fragility too.

Still silly though, looking around him instead of running thru the tape.

Saying that Bolt is fragile and writing him off are two separate things. If my memory is correct, no forumite wrote Bolt off. In the context of expectation and reality, was Bolt expected to win gold? Also, because he won silver does that mean he wasn't fragile. Let's hope this silver propels him to work harder, so at the next championship we can talk about how much he has matured mentally.

And wi have a feeling that once we give an assessment of someone or something 7 years ago, then we are not allowed to change our opinion, if in fact that condition has also changed.

It is the way he ran the race that determines his mind set and fragility, he never gave up and as for looking around, he looked to his right just before he crossed the line...dont blow it out of proportion

Could he have been fragile 3 years ago?

                  Okay then!

He ran a great race today, apart from when he looked around to see if he was securing the silver.

Two years from now when he stops doing that, I guess some will say that he never used to do that or he only did it when he knew he had the race won.

                  I should archive this.

but this is the point Mosiah..why are we comparing this man who just turned 21 last week to the teen ager two or three years ago?

NOT FAIR..how many of us want to be reminded we use to do and chat foolishness when we were 17 and 19 years old???

Fair enough, but until he shows something else what are supposed to say or think?

For instance, Asafa may go thru all sorts of counselling and growing up by the Olympics. Should we assume he has gotten over his fragility until we see the evidence on the track?

Bolt's best race was his national trial here in Kingston when he set the national record, a time that is even better than Tyson's this morning. That race, he ran strong to the very end. I also posted then that I saw him warming down after each race instead of the usual photo ops. So, there was my first indication that we had a new Bolt. Today's race confirmed it (apart from the looking around).

Matter of fact, it is Bolt who is now controlling the mind games as he said earlier he had studied Spearmon and knows how to beat him and has backed it up....

Good! That negates nothing I have said. Time for him (and Asafa) to study Gay (let's keep it clean).
