    if the current iaaf rule on determining winners of races, torso crossing the line, etc., would ottey be the winner in 1993 wc race against devers, when devers was declared the winner by a hair...

    I'm sure the rule was in place since then, but dat doan mean dem never tief Ottey! We would have to look at that photo finish again.

      according to the article i posted in the other thread...

      ...IAAF rules were adjusted several years ago to make an athlete's torso the reference point for close finishes.

      the question is when were the IAAF rules adjusted... that would be interesting to know...

        Several years ago means at least 20 years ago. This is not a new rule. Willi, please confirm.
