  • Usain Bolt.......................................

Usain Bolt was a guest on 3 consecutive ESPN shows this morning, and every time he has been on TV you can see the excitement in the interviewers’ face. When he’s out in public, people clamor for him. This man is the first TRUE Track & Field SUPERSTAR, and one of the most recognized and respected sports figures, SO why hasn’t his management team gotten him his own sports apparel, footwear and accessories line, and ownership in a soccer team (a sport that he loves)???…….What will be his annual earnings 10 – 20 years from now???

2 Examples of how GOOD management prepares for the future -
*Michael Jordan ended his NBA playing career in 2003. In 2014, he earned $100M, that’s $6M more than he made playing basketball for 15 seasons, and last year he earned $110M.
*LaBron James, who knows little to nothing about soccer, is minority owner of Liverpool FC.

Bolt has his own brand of Puma sneakers and clothing line for a very long time.

I purchased one about 3 years ago. (Paid over 100bucks). They are extremely comfortable .

There is NO Bolt BRAND, of sneakers & clothing. The BRAND is Puma and they have a Bolt Collection, similar to what Kevin Durant currently has with Nike (only that Kevin's is MORE lucrative).......Nike was offering Usain Bolt the opportunity to have his own BRAND, similar to what Michael Jordan has, and what they're doing with LaBron James. The Bolt BRAND would have been focused on Shoes, Clothing & Accessories (for Men, Women & Kids) for Track & Field, Running, Training/Gym/Fitness, Lifestyle/Casual Wear and later Soccer, which Bolt is passionate about.......Nike went as far as having Bolt's management team meet with LaBron James' team, in Philly, to give them some pointers about partnering with the right people & companies to develop & grow a BRAND, and if he signed with Nike, there would be meetings & collaborations with Jordan, to help them with Bolt.

Clearly money isn't everything to him. He is richer than he had ever dreamed possible and doesn't seem to be a spendthrift.

He is happy with his life .... And will be comfortable for the rest of it..

I agree. Money is not everything to Usain. The American greed thing hasn't crept into his psyche. A true people-person and Jamaican. At the end of the day he will be far richer than the others.

They support his charities and he has a lot of influence as well as a position for life

An athlete getting FAIR compensation for the VALUE he has added to multinational companies, that generate billions of dollars annually is GREED???.......In one of the interviews, Bolt stated that he was using HIS MONEY to build a clinic in Trelawny, as well as other ventures to help those less fortunate. I applaud him for helping those less fortunate, BUT if he's using HIS MONEY, he needs investments that will allow him to do this, especially after his retirement.

What's fair? I think Bolt determine that. Fair value may not be market value .....

...or more money would allow him to do more!
...but there may have been other considerations of which we are not aware.

E.g. It could be he would accrue more personally but his charitable goals would not have had the amount of money he wishes/needs? That personal extra...perhaps...would not allow him to deliver on charitable aims...e.g. Yuh nuh = Charity promised $1B with personal of 500M on the one hand and on the other Charity promised 2B with personal of 300M...and therefore the latter fits with his goals...maybe suppen lacka dat?????

Bolt is likely to get a board seat at Puma after he retires!
                      Probably has shares already.
