  • Lasco Fires Employee for disrespectful tweet about McLeod

Well done Portia, you have always been on the right side of these issues.

Manufacturer, Lasco Distributors Limited, says it has fired an employee who made an inappropriate tweet from the company’s Twitter account following the historic win by 110-metre hurdler Omar McLeod last night.

Lasco faced backlash from Twitter users with even opposition leader, Portia Simpson Miller, speaking on the matter via her Twitter account.

She encouraged her followers to celebrate all Jamaica’s athletes and unite to reject hate and bigotry.

As I listened to Stuart Hall and his vision of the new paradigm of sexual culture, its my belief that as Kingston becomes more of a tourist destination to rival Ochi and Mobay,The Agenda will succeed with its vision of Jamaica

In adda words yuh waan legalise it,tun Kgn into a premier tourist destination.

    It Dun!
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

      Huh?!?

Lasco should name the individual who made the unauthorized tweet.

As inappropriate and unauthorized as it was, it was kinda witty though, in a cruel way.

He/she deserved to get fired, no question about that.

From what I have heard, a media house asked for the public to caption a photo of McLeod after he won the hurdles, and some smart a$$ who had access to the Lasco account tweeted "Goldfish".

Unfortunate that someone chose to publish that on what may be arguably the best day of Omar's life. Hope it was worth his job.

Didn't find it that witty since almost everyone in the room I was in was saying that when he won. And these people weren't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.

That was f__kry. International sports unite us more than anything else. The man delivered a gold medal, not one person in the race congratulated him after the race and one of his own people tweeted out f__kry to the world.
