Kentucky Derby - "Whitmore" Among Eligibles

A horse named "Whitmore" is among the eligibles to be nominated for the
Kentucky Derby. He finished third in the Arkansas Derby, one of the buildup races to the Kentucky Derby, making a big charge from the back of the pack, off at 5-1 odds.

WHITMORE was running second near the line, was passed down the stretch
by the horse that finished second. The Arkansas Derby is 1 1/8 miles
(1800 meters); the Kentucky Derby is 1 1/4 miles (2000 meters).

The Kentucky Derby field will be announced later this week.
