Well the final was a game dominated by the bowlers. WI put the strong Indian team in to bat and the pacers delivered the goods. Apart from the star Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan who already plays in the IPL, the wickets fell regularly and India were bowled out for 145.
India were not planning to go away quietly though, their bowlers came back and pegged down the WI batsmen, they had to fight for every run. WI looked to be in trouble at 77 for 5 but the two batsmen Paul and Carty weathered the storm and took it home.
The WI were aided by a few dropped catches from India, without those the outcome might have been very different. Nonetheless much credit to the WI who were also excellent in the field.
Joseph and Holder are class bowlers. WICB please, please give them the support they need to develop into professional players.
