  • Chris Gayle Asks Journalist Out During Live Interview In Aus

Didn't Gayle get reprimanded for a similar stunt a couple years ago?

    Gayle's previous "sexist" remarks

The Antigua Observer reports that Gayle made the somewhat controversial comment when the reporter asked, “How does the pitch feel so far in terms of the training (and) the weather?”

His response, “Well I haven’t touched yours yet so I don’t know how it feels.”

Seemingly unperturbed by the comment, the woman laughed uncontrollably the Antigua Observer mentioned. Gayle continued the exchange and complimenting the woman, said “I like your smile; that’s nice.”

I don't think he meant anything disrespectful but not everyone will find that kind of thing amusing when they are trying to do their job.

What?? I am referring to this most recent one, asking the woman out on a date. Inappropriate and unprofessional for that setting yes, but I don't think he was being serious.

The one in Antigua was way over the line, but I guess because the woman laughed in that instance and the CPL defended his action he figured it was OK to go down that road again elsewhere.

I don't get this - "...but I don't think he was being serious."

                Really?!?!

I just watched the actual interview twice and I am even more convinced that Gayle was totally out of line with his teenager response.

I-man, it matters not if the woman found it offensive or not. Inappropriate is inappropriate, wrong is wrong!

Yes they were both inappropriate , but the one in the Caribbean, which was defended by the CPL ,was much more so. Chris probably decided that it would go over well in foreign too. That's what I think.

Whatever the motive it is best that he apologizes.

Yes, for the CPL to defend that...I...I dunno!

"...just to see your Heyes for the first time... don't blush BABY" Gayle nevah see de woman was a cringe and thinking, "what an a$$hole!!!" ... him couda get a date (possibly) if him did wait til the interview was over, then ask her out for a drink ... Gayle is how old 36? but behaving like a youth with no couth.

                      Embarrassing.

The punishment just about fits the crime.

Hopefully he has learned his lesson and we can move on.
