    HL I was watching Bloomberg TV this morning and saw an

    interview with former NBA player David Robinson, who is doing quite a lot in the business and philantropy world.

    He has always impressed me, never been the typical professional athlete/celebrity type. I am not at all surprised that he has been having a successful career after basketball.

      Been so busy recently that it's difficult to catch up on the news.

      Always admire the Admiral. Very poised and dignified.

      One byproduct of Business acquisition ...is it provides 'reach'.

      Robinson has described the long and wide reach he has in making his community better.

      The boarding school for boys I attended in Jamaica...has Facta non Verba on the school's crest.

          Family is doing fine, thanks.

          Yes, capital or access to capital is necessary to make big things happen, without it your options to create change in the world are very limited.

          That is one of the big problems I see in the modern black community, there is a tendency to view money made through traditional businesses as a "bad" thing. Jews have a totally different culture, business and wealth creation is a "good" and "spiritual" thing. No surprise that Jewish Americans have a median income of almost $100K a year.

            ....Jews , Arabs, Indians and Asians are more attuned to business compared to Blacks.

            We are a market population.

            The "big man " is spurned in our society. Not good.
