Good stuff!
I love this:
She said she only contacted his fiancee because she felt she had a moral obligation to tell her of their secret affair"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men" - Frederick Douglass

You are correct!
...but is there anything that can be said, anywhere, that one can reasonably presume will be, at the instant it is shared, confined to the individuals - I did say shared! ...taking out loud to self???? that is another matter!...
...or gadget(s)=device(s) that receives the info?
The fact is so many devices are, even when "off", 'busy' receiving and sharing data/information! ...and there is this great speed at which former 'docile' gadgets are being gatherers of data/information.
Agree with you that anything you are not comfortable with 'the world' knowing should be guarded as best as one can. That usually means limiting the information such that you or the person or persons you are sharing the information or the gadget or gadgets are "off-line".
As posted on this board "just about everything about you is 'out there'"! ...and virtually impossible to be erased. ...and certainly impossible to be erased once the information is 'out there'.
*Repeat=meaning I posted this before:- Just think on the absurdity of Hillary Clinton's advisors telling her it is A-OK to say you erased all emails of a particular type that you had already sent? ...not to mention that unless the hard-drive of her personal computer was 'destroyed' (made mince and perhaps melted down such that it could not be 're-constructed') that it - the computer and her server for that matter - can be made to 'spit-up' its contents!!!!
**btw - I am thinking you are focused only on gadgets that are sync'd - mi rite or mi wrang? ...but it goes way further than 'the man in the street' thinks.
Finally - It is nonsense spewing from the Republicans that gathering of all our emails, text, voice recordings, pictures and videos is cause to be 'up in arms' on and about invasion of privacy. It would only make sense if it could be ensured that all 'outside forces' - nations, business entities, individuals and the gadgets/devices used - would stop spying/information gathering but even worse also have the world return to an age where tremendous numbers of the 'nice gadgets/machines' we enjoy were banished from our lives. ...but 'it' sounds 'nice' and I am sure will win votes (from uninformed or 'those who never read comics' ...go down logical abstract pathways! ).
Great post, boss!
Do not 'say it' if you cannot take the possible consequence(s).
...or just live! ...hiding under one's bed is 'not good'!!!
***It appears to me that all social media gadgets/devices, entities, 'software' are sync'd?Last edited by Karl; October 15, 2015, 09:15 AM."Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

before you record anything on your phone, you need to consider whether it is anything that you would have a problem with being seen by the public. THAT is the rule of thumb.

I saw the BBC interview with Edward Snowden and he explains the power of th technology they have over your phone and i would imagine any device you have, PC, tablet etc. They can remotely shut your phone off or turn it on without you knowing. It can be used as a recording device then that they can monitor, eavesdrop on, any conversation you're having.
In fact, what I write on this site I often temper with that same advice you just gave.Peter R
