Which means it was a bad plan for Ohuruogu because she doesn't run that way.

Felix likely trained to run that way. Why was it a bad plan for her?

Why do people assume that conserving energy for a kick is reserved for Javon ,why wouldnt that benefit the top 4 because he did get his baton in 5th with a 10 to 15 meter defecit, stupid arguement especially when Merrit has the lead ,then you have to contend with the Trini youth.I dont see Javon making that up on those 2 , his split would have been slower and he would be battling for 3,4th or worse 5th.

      Good race Donks.

OK, she only went for 175, Donx went for 200.

            Yes...brilliant.

The tactical situation in this race was 100% different....and his race management was clearly brilliant. Merritt was waaaaay ahead of EVERYBODY by 20+ meters...Donks ran past 4 bunched up lemons and held on...brilliantly

This re-emphasizes that Donks is at his best...chasing...not front running. To use a boxing axiom: Styles make fights

Can't equate the 2 tactical scenarios

IMO, it appears to me that in 2013 he made his move later than he did last week. He took it out from he got the baton in 2015, in 2013, he ran the first curve without passing anyone before he "tun it up". Without knowing split times or any of that stuff, he was able to hold off the Russian in 2013, he had nothing left to hold off the English dude over whom he ad built up a good lead in the last stretch.

And on another note, this is NOT to criticize Francis who laid everything out on the track, BUT, you can't help but wonder what COULD have been had his approach been somewhat different.

I think we can agree that we were one leg short (and NOT THE LAST ONE) of a medal, and even of a different hue than bronze.

His split time was slower in 2013, of that I am sure. However to be fair he was two years younger then.

I think he ran basically the same race. Very hard first 200 and then try to hold on in the last 100m. The difference is where he got the baton.

45 was horrible but to whom much is given much is expected and as we expect miracle from Donkeyman again.

He however made a "Rookie" mistake by not conserving a little for the final 100. I bet if he had it all to do again he would do it different. This is nothing to beat him down for, he will learn from this and hopefully we will also have a better relay team.
