Don1 don't forget that we have a solid almost unbroken line of tradition in track and field and sprinting going back literally into the 1890's, don't forget that real knowledge and dissemination of such take generations to institutionalize, suh it not as simple to do same in football, plus track is a natural selection in a very Darwinian way, ball us a teamsport requiring a lot more resources to make true progress.
