I agree with a lot of what is said in this piece. I certainly welcome the World Relays and wish they could find a way to have it every year. It was very enjoyable. Compact schedule with exciting events and athletes.

One of the most frustrating things I find with professional/international track and field is the few times each season that the top athletes face each other. Other than boxing I cannot think of another sport with so much dodging and avoiding. Anything that can generate more head to head competition with the added dimension of national team rivalry is a good thing for track and field in my view.
