After attending Champs & Gibson Relays for 4-5 years, I was surprised how poorly supported & attended T&F meets were in the U.S.

So, because track and field is popular in Jamaica, does this mean that it should also be popular in the USA? The fact is that US, Canadian and Mexican high school and college students can -- and often do -- have stadium-filled sports events, but not in track and field!

You, of all persons, should have realized by now that track and field is by no means whatsoever a popular sport in any of these three countries of North America!!

Hopefully, the increasing importance of relays, especially since last year, will attract more attention within the borders of North America. Why relays? Simple: it’s a team sport.
