Rink:
According to the IIHF rules, in order to become a full member, a country must have at least one INDOOR rink with a capacity of 500 spectators, a domestic league, a minimum number of registered players, and a development program. http://www.iihf.com/fileadmin/user_u...Amendments.pdf (see pages 32-33.)
Jamaica is an associate member.
Also, the equipment to play hockey costs USD $700-$1000, double for goaltenders. Add the cost of ice time, which would be enormous in Jamaica due to the cost of refrigeration, air conditioning, and de-humidification.

Bruce, this quote is from the article you posted. That's why I asked the question: So is there a rink or not...and Mo, I am just curious.
"The Jamaican Olympic Ice Hockey Federation was founded last winter. The Caribbean country has one ice rink and currently 20 players but aims to grow the game and fulfill the criteria to participate in IIHF tournaments in the future."Peter R
