  • PR, you watching the Tour de France?

The only time TRUTH will hurt you...is if you ignore it long enough

Yes...well, I watched the first stage that took place in England, and then watched a couple of the daily summaries...saw some of today's live. Two big names have crashed out, Cavendish trying to bully his way to the front first day and last year's winner Froome crashed out also.

It means that the Vuelta a EspaƱa will be that much bigger as Quintana the Colombian who finished second last year (and is not riding the TdF) will be there, and now possibly Froome and Cavendish to make up for their current situation by going to Spain end of August. That should also be well worth watching. Two years ago we rode some of the same roadways in Southern Spain (Andalucia) that the Vuelta will be covering this time round.

Anyway, TdF will fill the void after Sunday's WC final... which for me is anti-climactic. I was hoping for some new, fresh team to upset the status quo, except now Germany (ho hum though them going to win) and Argentina (more ho hum) do not really do anything for me.

It is ironic that the teams that played the best team football (except for Germany) didn't advance: Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica (yes!!), Algeria, Nigeria (?)... I'm hoping that, God willing, in 2018 I'll see a bigger upset of the apple cart and a "non-traditional" team making its way at least to the semis.

Anyway, happy trails... and may the better team win on Sunday!
