Frankly, since I have not been following much cricket for a number of years (didn't throughout the 90s and first decade of thr 2000s), I could almost be in the same boat. At a previous job, we had an Indian young lady who asked me if I followed cricket and what Sachin Tendulkar was doing at the time. I had no idea and was not ashamed to say so.
