John Fahey apparently has no communication with the senior members of the WADA staff he heads. At the time of this publication, JADCO had already agreed to a visit from WADA personnel. WADA regional director David Howman finalized plans as Fahey proceeded to issue veiled threats in the world media aimed at maligning Jamaica's athletes.
The WADA team is scheduled in Jamaica on October 28th less than a week after Fahey registered his grand incompetence of mismanagement on the world stage. By failing to communicate with his own team it gives rise to what this mans best and worst intentions are regarding Jamaica's athletes.
It would appear that both his best and worst intentions are to see our program muddied into failure and extinction.
Why else make threats of banishment from the Olympics if that were not so?
In the light of the 126 tests that were conducted on the 30 odd Jamaican athletes by the IAAF last year, such an action would have b...een unlikely. But saying so from his position has delivered irreparable harm.
More tests were done on our tiny team than the US athletes yet Mr. Fahey says nothing of this shortfall!
Nothing was found as when compared to the more than 30 Russian athletes and 30 odd Turkish athletes caught using Anabolic Steroids and other enhancers last year.
The Jamaicans that were caught this year were all using stimulants found in supplements that were undeclared on the labeling and is allowed out of season. Fahey seems to be under instructions. His actions are at variance with the facts published by the IAAF and WADA itself regarding the testing of Jamaicans.
Last week agent Cubie Seegobin made some enlightening revelations regarding a testing method employed by WADA.
"The IRMS (Isotype Ratio Mass Spectrometry) tests - not the screening test that you just pass, it's the one where they look for steroids and they can find anything in your samples; and if anyone thinks that is not done on Jamaican athletes, they are out of their mind." Seegobin revealed.

Mr. Fahey clearly missed the memos on the testing facts and the meeting in Jamaica by a mile. I've already used a word for that.

Oswald Hutchinson His apology means nothing. It is already out there that we're doping and despite the failure to find evidence otherwise by WADA or the IAAF, the damage of the stigma is perpetuated because of who he is. It is apparent there is an agenda.

No one can or will say what it is but the intention is clear. I'm baffled at the reasons he would use to explain himself.

His system is in place and working and the very person heading that body makes declarations of banishment against our nation's athletes in the world media. This, whilst the nation is and remains in compliance.

John Fahey either a) doesn't know how the system he leads works; b) doesn't communicate with his staff or c) is leading a smear campaign from his position of power as the new head of WADA.

I'm convinced that he has been influenced either monetarily or politically to make statements associated with the poor facilities and short staffing at JADCO creating the appearance of impropriety. The fact that all the Jamaican findings have been in Jamaica by JADCO. The questions of integrity have been answered repeatedly. The fact that the athletes present themselves for the true rigors of training to produce the results being seen and sustained, ought to be encouraged. Malignant statements will eventually harm the athletes earnings because of the fickle nature of the sport. Unless that is his intention, his pursuit of misogyny is misplaced and he should be dismissed for wasting WADA resources on the heresies of convicted criminals and protected drug users.17 minutes ago via mobile · Like

The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) is to begin its investigation into Jamaica’s much-derided drug-testing programme next week – just days after Wada president John Fahey condemned the “farcical” attempts by Jamaican anti-doping officials to delay the inquiry until next year.

The Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (Jadco) confirmed last night that three Wada officials would be visiting the island on Monday and Tuesday to inspect the commission’s activities following allegations by its former executive director, Renee Anne Shirley, of a breakdown in its testing programme.

Shirley claimed that Jadco conducted just one out-of-competition drug test in the five months leading up to last year’s London Olympics.

In a statement, Jadco said the purpose of Wada’s visit was “to review the status of Jadco’s operations, including its drug-testing programme, staffing, governance, education programme, and current cases of adverse analytical findings against some of our athletes”.

Five Jamaican track and field athletes, including former world 100 metres world record-holder Asafa Powell, face disciplinary hearings in December and January after testing positive for banned substances.

Earlier this month, triple Olympic gold medallist Veronica Campbell-Brown was found guilty of taking a banned diuretic but escaped with a public reprimand from her Jamaican disciplinary panel. Both Wada and the International Association of Athletics Federations still have the right to appeal against the sanction.
VADA was invited by Jamaica’s Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller, in August to investigate the claims made by Shirley, who was sacked by the Jadco board in February after seven months in the job.
But, after Wada agreed to audit the country’s anti-doping programme, Jadco said it was unable to accommodate a Wada inspection team until January at the earliest, provoking a stinging rebuke from the world agency.
In an interview with the Telegraph Sport earlier this week, Fahey criticised Jadco’s stonewalling and hinted that it could be ruled non-compliant with the VADA Code – a move that would threaten Jamaica’s participation in major sporting championships, including the Olympic Games.
"The current position is unacceptable to Wada and we're not going to take it lying down," said Fahey, whose four-year term as president comes to an end next month.
Asked whether a declaration of non-compliance was a possibility, Fahey replied: “There are a number of options. You can read into that exactly what those words are likely to mean, but I don’t want to flag it up.”
Embarrassingly for Fahey, it has now emerged that plans for next week’s Wada visit had already been agreed before he went public with his criticisms.
It is understood that David Howman, Wada’s director general, confirmed the inspection timetable by letter on Oct 17, though Fahey was clearly unaware of the new plans when he launched his attack on Jadco’s delaying tactics.
The three officials who will carry out the inspection are Rob Koehler, Wada’s director of education and programme development, standards and harmonisation director Rune Andersen and Kerwin Clarke, manager of results management and legal affairs.
