Beijing Olympics 100-metre silver medalist Sherone Simpson is now training in Florida under new coach Loren Seagrave.
The move has signalled the end of the relationship between the 2006 Commonwealth Games 200-metre champion and her long-time coach Stephen Francis of MVP Track Club where she has trained for almost a decade.
Simpson is provisionally suspended from competition following a positive drug test for the stimulant Oxilifrine during the national senior championships last June.
Simpson, who in 2006 was ranked number one in the world in both 100 and 200m, and former clubmate, Asafa Powell, were issued an ultimatum by Francis last August that they would have to choose between the club and their agent Paul Doyle, once the doping matter was settled.
The rift between the coach and the athletes and their agent stemmed from Doyle's hiring of Canadian trainer Chris Xuereb, who the athletes believe is responsible for their failed drug tests.
Seagrave is a coach of world renown. He is known as one of the best sprint and hurdles coaches in the world who has conditioned six Olympians from five different countries including Bahamian 200-metre gold medalist Pauline Davis.
In 1998, he was sought out to direct the training of 100m World and Olympic Champion and former world record holder Donovan Bailey.
