    LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!

    Me belly!!!!

X, I hate to break it to you but being born with one leg or no legs is not a genetic predisposition when last I checked. On the other hand theMasai being much taller than the pygmies is.

Hence based on this example I take it you agree that genetic predisposition CAN in fact result in some groups being more successful at certain activities than others.

Okay, we have reached out to the ridiculous, now!

Thanks, I-Man. For some reason, some persons want the rest of us to believe that all human beings are physically created equal. The examples are too numerous to list how different physically we are. Some may have to do with environment.

For instance, it is said that white people have more body fat than blacks. Over time, because they lived in colder climes, they needed the body fat for insulation. Maybe as we continue to live in each other's traditional regions this may change. May also have to do with the diet.

It is this excess fat that allows, as some people believe, white people to be better swimmers than blacks, as the body fat allows them to float more easily.

There is nothing racist about such thoughts and logic, although I wouldn't advise an American sports anchor to ever repeat such things!

Because I choose to use an obvious example that makes your and Karls argument that genetic predisposition is totally irrelevant look, well, rather silly.

You know the strangest thing, we all accept that certain ethnic groups are more predisposed to getting certain diseases. We know that even a condition like lactose intolerance has a genetic origin and is more prevalent in certain populations than others.

Yet when it comes to physical activities we want to still hold on to the idea that we are all identical? How ridiculous!

Disagree ,that is an outlier .

That said, enviroment more so than genes plays the bigger role , with all the west african genes in europe , england, france , brazil and africa itself , the sprints seemed to be the exclusive realm of carribbean sprinters and black americans.

Again using dwarfs to make a point , to me would be an outlier in the billlions of human genetics to choose from, why not the above ..... pygmies !all things being equal any card can be played .

I can't fathom it! And if we dare say it, we are branded as racists! Then I guess those doctors who say certain diseases are more prevalent in this race over the other are racist too!

                            X,

...environment more so than genes plays the bigger roll
That is a totally different argument from saying that genes plays NO role. We are simply saying that genetics gives groups from certain geographic origins a head start with certain activities, simply because more people in the group have a predisposition for said activity.

Jamaican sprinters are not a distinct ethnic group but they are a PART of a group that the evidence suggests has a certain predisposition to sprinting (necessary),and they also have a culture that promotes excellence in sprinting (sufficient). See how it all ties together now?

all things being equal any card can be played
But alas, all things are NOT equal. The Masai are much taller on average.

I don't think you understand the concept of outliers.

An outlier is the pygmy who is 6 foot tall or the Masai who is 4 foot tall.

We are deliberately comparing two population samples, the whole population cannot be an outlier!

Is there a pygmie race in the caucsian race ? the Asian race ? why go to that extreme ,why not look at it as a cluster in an enviroment ? you have cluster of west african genes in the same climate enviroment who dont achieve what afro americans/carribbeans do ,why not ? instead you choose out liers ? to make a racist point.
