Olympic and World 400m hurdles gold medallist, Melaine Walker, is leaving the MVP Track Club and heading to the Glen Mills-coached Racers Track Club.
Sources close to both the athletes and Racers say Walker and the University of the West Indies-based club are close to an agreement which will see her ending her long-time relationship with MVP head coach Stephen Francis.
Contacted this afternoon coach Mills, declined comment.
Meanwhile, Walker’s manager, her brother, Christopher Walker, reserved comment only saying he will speak at the right time.
The relationship between Walker and Francis has deteriorated in recent months.
Walker has long wanted to compete in the 100m hurdles but was prevented from doing so and it is believed that may have contributed to her decision to quit MVP.
