someone said not to too long ago that the windies women are more likely to bring back (sustained) pride to the region than the men. i agree with that someone

Even if they lose today (tonight) they already have done much to restore some pride to the region's cricket.

I was reading a comment about our (men's) performance (or lack thereof) and the person said that we do not play enough cricket in the region... and I have to agree. Not having players in the English leagues as we did before, where and when do the players get match play after the regional tournaments which offer relatively limited playing time?

We always see our team improve the longer a series continues... which could be a combination of the team's improvement and the opposition having won the series, easing off the gas...

It's an issue that needs to be addressed. Having a week-long camp prior to a series is not enough!

We have had that problem of not enough hard cricket for our players for what, 25 years now? I doubt that it will be addressed any time soon. Not by the WICB anyway.

I am convinced that the only future for WI international cricket is with T20. That is the only form of the game where we will have enough cricketers playing and making money consistently, hence that is where we will be competitive.

It looks that way, sadly. Let's see if we can win the T20 tomorrow (3:30 AM EST)...only hope of any consolation.

              Congrats to the ladies!

The men won the T20 against the Aussies as well!

They had not beaten Australia in this country since the Perth Test in February 1997
I did not realize we have been that bad Down Under. Not even a One Day game?

...and we could have seriously challenged in two of those five ODIs... according to some we will have to change the "G" in Gayle's name to an "F"... he's going through a very very bad patch. I am not ready to get rid of him yet... the good thing is the youngsters showed up today... Johnson Charles and Darren Bravo at the top set a good foundation for the 191... Russell made the ugliest 23 you could ever see except for one stroke, but that is T20 when it's time to hit out....

Anyway, Zimbabwe next... should be less challenging but.... with WIndies you never know... HAving said that I expect nothing less than complete domination over a team that has been reduced almost to an afterthought in world cricket.
