There is a big difference between raw data and statistical analysis. With regards to Sammy's captaincy; I critized him prevously as well as complimented him; however, yesterdays performance as a captain was terrible. Why did he keep bowling Permal and only brought back Roach when the game was practically lost? Why didn't he try Gayle and Pollard with the ball? How come he only bowled 5 overs? I believed he would have done much better than Permal during the 2 power play.
Winning is a team thing and praises should go to everyone concerned i.e. the players and coaching staff when they win. Losing is also a team thing and the blame must go to everyone concerned but most of the blame has to be placed on the Selectors and the coach. Unless the WICB change the selectors and get a real coach; the Windies will be in trouble. It is difficult to understand why Chanders and Ramdin were sent home after the test series. Personally, I believe the selectors and the coach were the ones responsible; not Sammy. -
what is true is that a "Chanderpaul" was sorely needed at the top... someone who could have anchored the top order and stay there... it's not like 50 overs is a short time to bat..Peter R
