World Sprint King Usain Bolt who earned three gold medals and helped Jamaica to a world record with the 4x100m has also earned the baton with which he anchored the relay team. IOC officials had earlier told Bolt that he could not keep the baton because it was against the rules and his 4x100m relay team could face disqualification, however the Jamaican has been allowed to keep the baton. Jamaica's relay team of Nesta Carter, Michael Frater, Yohan Blake and Usain Bolt became the first team to clock under 37 seconds after finishing in a time of 36.84s.
