LONDON – National coach, Bertland Cameron, is out of Racers Track Club, according to highly placed trackalerts.com sources.

Cameron, who quit the Wolmer's coaching staff in 2010, just before the school won Boys Champs, to join Racers full-time as one of the group's quarter mile coaches, is said to be forming his own club. He also coached at his former school, St. Jago.

"Cameron and the club are having disagreements," said the source, as the reason for the separation. Cameron, who won the inaugural World Championships 400m title in Helsinki, 1983, is the coach of National record holder, Jermaine Gonzales and 400m hurdler, Nickiesha Wilson. He represented Jamaica at three consecutive Olympics, won gold at the 1978 Commonwealth Games, and had several other gold medals at regional competitions.

It was not clear how many of the athletes will leave with Cameron, nor was it clear where he would be based.

Neither Cameron nor Glen Mills, president and head coach of the Club, could be reached for comment.
