"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.
"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.
The educated Jamaican woman said , its because of the air on the slave ship and genes ?
So slaves only came and reproduced in Jamaica and the ships had special jamaican air ?I wonder if some forgein journalist ask them the simple question, if you take away , champs ? school, prep ,primary & H.S champs would we produce runners so fast , a wonda what dem would really say ?
That young girl said it all , at her age she can beat Bolt !...desire and dreams with a program produce stars.

Very good post Xman. This genetics argument is total hogwash. I cringe everytime I hear educated Jamaicans make these statements. Our prowress in sprinting is no mystery. It is simply our love and dedication to the sport itself along with our need to elevate ourselves out of our financial hardships. If Jamaica should tek weh demselves from the WI cricket team and go it alone, then you would see Bolt-like stars emerging when they start realising that they could be making Chris Gayle-type money out of the game.
Hey .. look at the bright side .... at least you're not a Liverpool fan! - Lazie 2/24/10Paul Marin -19 is one thing, 20 is a whole other matter. It gets even worse if they win the UCL. *groan*. 05/18/2011.MU fans naah cough, but all a unuh a vomit?-Lazie 1/11/2015
Crazy a tell yuh,its innate ? its like the european theory of slavery coming to light ,they believed in breeding africans to be a stronger species to do manual work, not thinkers and we reinforce it (not thinking) by repeating it ?
Was slavery and its experience exclusive to Jamaicans? No
Is champs exclusive to Jamaicans ? Yes
Funny though in all seriousness ,these academic clowns admit if certain sprinters run last at champs they would face grave consequences when quiered by the journalist ...eye popping she says.
On to the yam, banana, theroy and cockbottom..lol

........but does India have a high school cricket "Champs"? And if both India a Jamaica were to have such a cricket "Champs", which country do you think would excel more?

No. Nurturing maximises what nature gives you, it cannot create what was never there.
Jamaicans do not have any special genetic disposition to sprint that Trinis or Nigerians do not have, but can you look at this list and not think there may be something to the West African gene pool argument as it relates to sprinting?
Nearly all the sprinters who have beaten the 10-second barrier are of West African descent. Namibian (formerly South-West Africa) Frankie Fredericks became the first man of non-West African heritage to achieve the feat in 1991 and in 2003 Australia's Patrick Johnson (who has Irish and Indigenous Australian heritage) became the first sub-10-second runner without an African background.[5][6][7][8] Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre became the first white European under ten seconds in 2010 (although Poland's Marian Woronin had unofficially surpassed the barrier with a time of 9.992 seconds in 1984).[9] In 2011, Zimbabwean Ngonidzashe Makusha became the 76th man to break the barrier, yet only the fourth man not of West African descent.[10] No sprinter of predominantly Asian or East African descent has officially achieved this feat.
