Jamaica's Commonwealth and Pan Am Games 100m champion Lerone Clarke raced to a world leading 60m time here at Wedneday's Track Meeting Pas de Calais in France.
The mark, 6.50 seconds, which was set up by the 5.63secs he covered the first 50m in, bettered the previous world leading time he had of 6.52.
Hometown hero Christphe Lemaitre was well beaten, 6.57 for second, while Michael Frater, running his first indoor meet in years, was third in 6.63.
Clarke, who also achieved his best ever mark over the distance, was very happy. "I'm very happy with tonight's race."
"Any time you can PB in a race you've got to be happy. I'm blessed to be healthy and running well looking forward to racing in Birmingham next week," he added. He faces Asafa Powell in Birmingham.
Earlier, in the heats, Clarke ran 6.57 to take race one while Lemaitre ran 6.59 to finish ahead of Frater 6.64 in race two.
Jamaican Patricia Hall nearly clocked all-time 300m world best with her 35.69 (also WL and MR). Only Irina Privalova 35.45 back in 1993 was ever better. European indoor champion 2009 Antonina Krivoshapka of Russia as second got EL 36.42.
In the women's section, US Virgin Islands Laverne Jones-Ferrette won the 60m in 7.14 (6.14 at 50 m) over Ukrainians Mariya Ryemyen 7.17 (50m 6.18 EL) and Olesya Povkh 7.20. US Kristi Castlin was the best in the 60 m hurdles after 7.92 beating Canadian duo Nikita Holder 8.00 and Phylicia George 8.03.
Earlier, St. Kitts and Nevis' Tameka Williams, who despite 5th in heat 2, squeezed into the final with 7.29. Jamaican Aleen Bailey missed out on the final with 7.39.
